Recent Neuro Science research has clearly shown the power of words and their effect on our lives. When one specific word is flashed across the brain it causes a sudden release of stress producing hormones and neuro chemicals. Normal functioning of the brain is immediately interrupted, logic is impaired and communication is diminished. Not a great recipe for success!

1. To counter every negative word or thought you need to generate at least three positive thoughts, because the brain doesn’t respond as fast to positive words and thoughts because they are not a threat to your survival. Further research into the fields of neuro psychology and behavioural neuro economics has illustrated that if you want your business and personal relationships to flourish, you must generate at least five positive messages for every negative comment you make to yourself! The words you choose are paramount to your health, happiness and success! Eliminate negative thinking and the most dangerous word in the world!
2. To interrupt a negative thought or experience, ask yourself:-
Is this situation really a threat to my personal survival right now?
As it is unlikely you are really threatened, this helps interrupt the amygdala’s response andreduces the possibility of permanently engraving negative memories into your brain.
3. Engage in the art of gratitude and practice thinking positively. Think nice things about yourself and share happy events. Savour every positive experience in your life. Choose your words wisely and speak slowly. Repeating words like peace or compassion will turn on genes that lower physical and emotional stress. You will feel better, live longer and build deeper more trusting relationships at work and home.
In conclusion, a good daily tonic to use in your life!
