Some people drift into sleep and that's perfectly fine. It's only your conscious mind that sleeps. Your subconscious cannot sleep because it keeps you breathing and alive! The subconscious is also where we store all our behaviours, beliefs and habits. By using hypnosis you are teaching your subconscious a new way of behaving - in this particular case, how to relax.
When you listen to the download for relaxation methods please find a quiet place to sit or lie down where you won't be disturbed for the duration of the audio.
You will experience a deep feeling of relaxation yet at the same time a heightened state of awareness. You remain alert to your surroundings, the sounds, smells and movement - however your focus will be on you.
Please do not listen to the audio while driving or doing anything where your attention needs to be elsewhere!
What is the difference between clinical hypnosis and stage or entertainment hypnosis?
Clinical hypnosis is a heightened state of awareness and you are in complete control. It is impossible to make someone do, feel or think anything that they choose not to.
Stage hypnosis is carried out by entertainers who selectively hand pick a group of extroverts to perform. It's entertainment! The fact of the matter is that you cannot be made to do anything against your will in hypnosis.
How does hypnosis work?
Clinical hypnosis is about going into a state of deep relaxation and communicating with your subconscious mind – the part of your brain where habits, behaviours and beliefs are stored.
By working with the subconscious mind you can create change, so that new beliefs, behaviour and habits can be adopted.
Hypnotherapy is not a 'quick fix pill', you have to want to create the change such as losing weight, removing anxiety, quitting smoking...
How can hypnotherapy change my life?
The beauty of hypnosis is that it is YOU who is changing your life. Not someone else, not pills or a doctor or a therapist. If we take responsibility, realise it is only us who can improve our lives, then that is very empowering. Hypnosis opens the door and you do the rest.
Can anyone be hypnotised?
Yes absolutely, and you simply will not reveal anything you do not wish to reveal. You are in control.
How will I feel, under hypnosis?
Relaxed and safe.
Your breathing deepens and slows down, your blood pressure regulates and your heart rate calms as you reach total relaxation. Most clients report feeling very relaxed and energised after a session.
